Neck pain
Neck Pain Therapy
Many of us suffer from all sorts of neck pains which may include but not limited to neck sprains and strains, degenerative problems, and or bulging or herniated discs.
Neck sprains (ligament damage) and strains (muscle damage) are commonly caused by bad sleeping habits, sitting on the computer at work for long hours, using electronic devices such as games and or phones, everyday stress, and or after a car accident.
Degenerative problems may include arthritis from age and or from an old injury like a sports injury as a child, past car accident, or prior slip and fall. This can be very painful and may feel achy daily and sometimes worse in the morning times and or at night.
Bulging and Herniated Discs
Bulging and herniated discs are probably the most common injury that comes into Rush Chiropractic and Rehab. This may be caused by an auto accident, slip, and fall, sports injury, or just having fun playing with the kids. There are other causes of discs problems but these are the most common.
As a disc condition gets worse or progresses, some people may develop pain down the shoulders and arm with symptoms that may include numbness, tingling, achy, burning, or weakness. Some call this a pinched or irritated nerve. At Rush Chiropractic and Rehab, we have state-of-the-art non-surgical computerized therapy called Spinal Decompression Therapy which has helped many of our patients with disc problems without the use of drugs or surgery.
Comprehensive Examination
At Rush Chiropractic and Rehab we will perform a comprehensive examination which includes neurological, orthopedic testing, as well as range of motion testing, and x-rays to determine the diagnosis of your problem. We will then set you up on a therapy program including electrical muscle stimulation to decrease spasm, increase blow flow and promote healing, mechanical traction to stretch the spinal joints, ultrasound to decrease inflammation and pain, massage therapy by our licensed massage therapist, and gentle manipulation to remove the fixated joints,.
After a few visits, we will begin exercises in the office and Dr. Rush will give you specific exercises for home to help strengthen the muscles around the weakened areas. Often you will feel very quick pain relief, however, this depends upon the severity of your condition.
If you believe you are experiencing any of these conditions, call Rush Chiropractic now to set up your examination.
